Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2017
Mark your calendars for the 100th anniversary of the WWI Royal Flying Corps Cemetary, located in Fort Worth at Greenwood Cemetery.
Fort Worth holds an official Commonwealth War Grave Cemetary, the WWI Royal Flying Corps Cemetary. During the course of WWI, the Royal Flying Corps constructed our first three military airfields. From 1917 to 1918, 1,500 American, British, and Canadian Pilots trained and won their wings here in Fort Worth, Texas. This was the first Commonwealth War Grave Cemetary ever constructed in Texas.
Special notation, I really appreciate those that could attend the 98th Rememberance Service of the WW1 Royal Flying Corps, May 29, 2015. We hold this rememberance bi-annually and would love to see you for the 100th, Memorial Day 2017.
